FORMULA WINDSURFING GRAND PRIX 2004
18-26 JUNE RHODES ISLAND GREECE
Few weeks before the start of the Olympics Games in Athens, Rhodes
Windsurf Academy is organising the IWA Formula Windsurfing Grand
Prix in Ialisos Beach next to the Forum Beach Hotel one of the best
top Windsurfing spot in Greece in the west coast of Rhodes Island
the capital of the Dodecanese where the Meltemi blows from april
to October.
RWA has already worked on developing and promoting water-sport tourism
in this area organising numbers of worldwide windsurfing events
this last decade (1992 IFCA World championship, 1997 PWA World Cup,1998
1999 Greek National Championship,1998 1999 King of Rhodes Free style
and Slalom, 2002 Formula Grand Prix ).
Working with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of the Aegean
and Island policy, the Southern Aegean Region, the municipality
of Rhodes and Ialisos, the RWA wish to continue organising Worldwide
events the next few years promoting the naturals geographicals trumps
of the island coast beauty, sea, sun, wind to attract water sport
tourism.

conditions for worldwide windsurf competitions, beautiful sea side,
wind, sun wich the Aegean sea offer."
Competitor top info
Over than thirty competitors from eleven countries are expected
to take part to the Rhodes Grand Prix some of the top names will
be Andrea Cucchi from Italy the third at the Euro Cup 2003, Stephen
Boulon (see picture) from Virgin Island third at the Formula Europeens
Championship, Arnon Dagan Israel Champion, Ross Williams from UK
the fifth at Euros cup 2003.
Registration / Practice race
Today 23 of june, a first practice race was organised and first
was Stephen Boulon from Virgin Island, second was Andrea Cucchi
from uk and third,Brian Roegild from Dannemark.
